Wild-drivin' Mustang Leads to Theft, Assault, and Destruction of Property Investigations

(Gillette, Wyo.) It was kind of a wild Thursday night for one resident. At 8:45 p.m., Gillette Police received a traffic complaint that someone in a white Ford Mustang with dealer plates had whipped a cookie on Highway 59, near Frontier Bowl. The driver, a 36 year old man, was stopped by officers at Common Cents. He claims he just had some "wheel spin" while making a u-turn. But he also told police that a 26 year old man had thrown rocks at him in the parking lot of Frontier Bowl, as he was leaving. When the 26 year old man was questioned, he said that the 36 year old threatened to assault him, then tried to run him over. Officers will be investigating surveillance video from Frontier Bowl today to substantiate those claims. Meanwhile, by 9:20, the 36 year old had reported to police that the same 26 year old at Frontier Bowl had previously taken a social security card and debit card from him while he was at Dickey's BBQ with his four year old son. The incident was allegedly because of unsettled debt. The 26 year old denied any wrongdoing or taking the cards. At 10 p.m., the 36 year old in the Mustang was calling police from Finishing Touch Detailing. He noticed a dent in the side panel and says someone must have punched his car door. Officers don't have a suspect yet for that, but there was over $1000 damage to the car. So far no one has been cited for anything. #county17 #news
