Five Agencies Aid Campbell County Fire Department with Multiple Wildfires

(Gillette, Wyo.) CCFD responded to Elk Creek Road at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday for a two acre timber fire, which was contained. By 2:34 p.m. there was also a timber fire on T-7 Road. It is over 800 acres and is still burning as of three hours ago. At 2:49 p.m. a 150 acre timber fire was reported near the area of SA Road and Big Powder River. That fire is also still actively burning. At 5:46 p.m. CCFD was in the area of Bay Horse Road for a timber fire there, but it was contained to one acre. [image: 13467684_1461416993884372_1823638923_o.jpg] Campbell County is receiving assistance from the U.S. Forest Service, Wyoming State Forestry, BLM, Sheridan County, and Campbell County Road and Bridge to try and contain the Deer Creek and Short Creek wildfires which are still ongoing. Local landowners have also been helping assist the fire department. We are awaiting word from CCFD on the causes of these fires.
