Burn Ban Goes in to Effect at Midnight. Here's what you need to know:

(Gillette, Wyo.) Under the advisement of the Campbell County Fire Warden, the County Commissioners approved a request restricting open burns in certain areas this morning. The resolution states that this is a partial closure, discharge of fireworks and all outdoor fires are prohibited on unimproved areas that are defined as cropland, agricultural land, and undeveloped land which predominately remains in its natural forested or range condition. The exceptions: - Trash or refuse fires are permitted but only between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., inside approved containers and within an area cleared ten feet around. - Charcoal fire in enclosed grills are permitted. - Acetylene torches and electric arc welders are permitted as long as they are in cleared areas ten feet around. - Propane or other open fire branding activities as long as they are in a cleared ten foot radius. - Chainsaws as long as they have spark arresters are permitted. This resolution goes in to effect tonight at midnight. Federal, state, and local fire and law enforcement officers are permitted to participate in fire, emergency, and law enforcement activities. #county17 #news
