I-90 motorcycle chase leads to arrest after crash

(Gillette, Wyo.) A local man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a 25 mile long pursuit along Interstate 90 on Sunday, July 3rd. Anthony Delfino, a 23 year old resident of Moorcroft, was riding a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle around 12:30 p.m. and a Wyoming State Trooper attempted to stop him for a registration violation. Delfino did not stop and reached speeds of 140 mph while attempting to elude the Trooper. At 12:50 p.m., the pursuit entered the city limits of Gillette at exit 126 and was terminated for the safety of the public, the driver, and the pursuing law enforcement officers. Around 1:09 p.m., Deputies with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office found the bike crashed at Echeta Road and Burma Avenue. Delfino had left the scene of the crash on foot and was located by deputies a couple of blocks from the crash scene. Delfino crashed when he took a corner too fast and lost control of the motorcycle, after the pursuit by Wyoming Highway Patrol had ended. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was treated on scene for minor injuries and did not require transport to the hospital. Troopers arrested Delfino and he has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, eluding, reckless driving, driving while under the influence, driving on a suspended driver's license, speeding and expired registration. He also had a warrant out of Campbell County for failing to appear for previous charges of driving while suspended and speeding. #county17 #news
