Breaking: Early Morning Arrest at Cam-Plex the Result of Suspected Drug Use

(Gillette, Wyo.) This morning at 7:40 a.m., Gillette Police received a 911 call from Cam-Plex staff about a man running around their parking lot. According to GPD Corporal Rebecca Elger, a 22 year old was on the west side of Central Pavilion, acting very strangely. While officers were en route, Cam-Plex staff reported that the man had begun taking off his clothes. He was also seen running away from people in a vehicle, who are believed to be friends that were trying to help him. He refused to get inside their car. The man then reportedly began "body slamming" himself in to the pavement, waving his hands, and talking to himself. When officers arrived there was a confrontation with the man, who ultimately was taken to the Emergency Room in Gillette for drug treatment. Charges for possession and interference with an officer are pending. As of press time, he was still being treated for his self-sustained injuries at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. #county17 #news
