Wyoming art students create ceramic poppies for fallen wartime Wyoming soldiers

(Casper, Wyo.) — Natrona County School District art students are creating one ceramic poppy for each Wyoming soldier who has died in wartime, going back to the Spanish-American War. Southridge art teacher Chris Dvarishkis created and organized the project, which is inspired by the Tower of London Poppies of 2014. There are 17 schools in Casper that participated to create 1,796 ceramic poppies. The poppies will be sold via an eBay store, with proceeds going towards charities that serve Wyoming veterans. The poppies will be on display at the Eastridge Mall Nov. 9th-Dec. 13th near the food court. *feature photo: Ania Mendrek / Pitchengine Communites* #dally
