Sheridan County School District #2 continues construction projects

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Construction on some major Sheridan County School District #2 projects continues, and early this month, SCSD#2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty updated the board of trustees on several projects. Here's what he had to say in a capital construction update dated Nov. 2. *Sheridan High School locker rooms* Construction on the Sheridan High School locker room and training room is progressing nicely. Mechanical electrical, and plumbing roughins are in progress. Metal stud framing will continue through the next month. The renovation of the old lockers will begin in March 2016 and the anticipated completion date is September 2016. *Sheridan Junior High School Hill Stabilization* The District discovered water issues in the middle section of the hill, and this has caused the engineers to reconsider the stabilization recommendations of the middle section. "The engineers are working to mitigate this issue in an expedited manner. However, the stabilization project will take longer to complete," according to the report. *Collaborative High School* The District has met with the Wyoming School Facilities Department in Casper to discuss capacity issues at Sheridan Junior High School and Sheridan High School. "We asked that if the WSFD was going to recommend the alternative school to stay at the old Highland Park Elementary building for the next few years, that it be placed on the needs index list, which would place it first on the needs index. "As it stands now, our high school collaborative high school project is not funded," Dougherty stated in the report. *Dirt work on the hillside below Sheridan Junior High School this fall. h/t
