(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Northern Wyoming Community College District recently received recognition for a variety of marketing efforts. The NWCCD Marketing and Public Information Office, which oversees public relations for Sheridan College, Gillette College and outreach centers in Johnson County, earned five awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ (NCMPR) District 4 region. The region includes community colleges in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming. The Marketing and Public Information Office took first and second place in the Viewbook category for the 2015-16 Sheridan College and Gillette College viewbooks, respectively; second place in the Recruitment Folder category for the Sheridan College folder; third place in the Photography category for a unique photo of a Sheridan College science faculty with students in the field during an ecology class trip; and third place in the Magazine category for the Sheridan College brochure that was delivered to households across Sheridan County in July. The awards were presented at the NCMPR’s District 4 conference in Galveston, Tex., Nov. 2-4. The Marketing and Public Information Office is directed by Wendy Smith. The office also includes Dennis Jacobs, Mark Nitschke, and Kara Bacon. “It’s a privilege to connect with the communities of northern Wyoming and promote higher education,” said Smith, who has been with the college district for 11 years. “We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the counties we serve and helping our array of students reach new heights in education and in their careers.” *Feature Photo: Unmunipulated photo taken by NWCCD Photographer, Dennis Jacobs.
