City to consider funding requests from VOA, Public Arts Committee

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Sheridan City Council will meet for a regular meeting tonight at City Hall at 7 p.m., to discuss funding requests from local two agencies. The Council will discuss two funding requests during new business. The first is from the Sheridan Public Arts Committee for $10,000 for the continuation of operations of the all-volunteer committee, which finds and maintains Sheridan's permanent and loaned pieces of public art. The Council will also hear a request from Volunteers of America Northern Rockies. "It is with grave need that we submit a request to the City for financial assistance in support of the Sheridan Community Shelter," Jeffrey M. Holsinger, president of the VOA, wrote in a letter to the City. The VOA is requesting facility lease costs of $10,000 annually and resident program transportation costs of $5,000 annually to provide "basic needs of employment and housing for the homeless individuals and families" served by the VOA. #dally #news
