(Sheridan, Wyo.) — With little snow on the ground, and the temperature in Sheridan reaching a record-tying high of 69 degrees
this week, a White Christmas seems a
bit like a dream.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations's National Climate
has issued its forecast for where at least one inch of snow could be on the
ground December 25th.
For the Rocky Mountains, including Northeastern Wyoming, the chance is
pretty high, at least historically.
The Bighorn Mountain Range is sure to be covered in snow by then, and the
Sheridan area looks to have a 41-60 percent chance of a White Christmas.
The forecast is based on a 30 year average of several climatological
