Dreaming of a White Christmas?

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — With little snow on the ground, and the temperature in Sheridan reaching a record-tying high of 69 degrees this week, a White Christmas seems a bit like a dream. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations's National Climate Data Center has issued its forecast for where at least one inch of snow could be on the ground December 25th. For the Rocky Mountains, including Northeastern Wyoming, the chance is pretty high, at least historically. The Bighorn Mountain Range is sure to be covered in snow by then, and the Sheridan area looks to have a 41-60 percent chance of a White Christmas. The forecast is based on a 30 year average of several climatological measurements. *Feature photo NOAA / Pitchengine Communities* #dally #news
