Dispatch: Driver cited after striking school bus Monday afternoon; warrants served; weather-related crashes

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Here is the Monday, Dec. 14, recap of law enforcement activity in the Sheridan area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Sheridan Police Department* *Arrests* Tonia Chavez, 34, Sheridan, was arrested on a Circuit Court Warrant at 11:13 a.m. on Coffeen Avenue. *Calls* Officers responded to a report of noise disturbance/possible party at 12:29 a.m. on S. Sheridan Avenue. Male subject was cited for minor in possession of alcohol/consumption. One female was cited for driving under suspension, as the result of an alternate call to Walmart, at 6:44 a.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Officers conducted a welfare check on a juvenile who had sent out text messages that contained concerning language at 9:30 a.m. on North Heights Drive. Juvenile was contacted and appeared fine. Officers removed a subject at 10:17 a.m. on W. Fifth Street. Officers responded to found property at 11:44 a.m. on S. Main Street when a credit card was found. Police could not locate owner, card was logged into evidence for safekeeping. Officers responded to a hit and run at 11:45 a.m. on Coffeen. Report was of an incident several days ago, case is under investigation. Officers responded to a report of theft of money from a resident-shared storage closet at 1:47 p.m. on E. Works Street. Officers served a warrant for failure to appear to Tia Bergen, 27, Sheridan, currently incarcerated in Sheridan County Jail at 2:49 p.m. Officers served a warrant for failure to appear to Alec Wood, 23, Sheridan, currently incarcerated in the Sheridan County Jail at 3:03 p.m. Officers conducted warrant service at 3:03 p.m. on W. 12th Street. A driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions when it struck a school bus at 3:08 p.m. on Thurmond Street. Officers responded to a report of child abuse from a year ago at 3:23 p.m. on Park Street. Case is under investigation. Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at 3:56 p.m., no location given, no injuries. Driver cited for speeds greater than reasonable. Officers conducted a welfare check on a disabled adult when requested at 4:04 p.m. on Dana Avenue. Case pending involvement with other agencies. Officers conducted a welfare check when requested on a baby at 4:07 p.m. on Dunnuck Street. Baby and mother contacted and found to be in good and healthy condition. Officers responded to a custody dispute at 5:05 p.m. on S. Carrington St. Case is under investigation. Officers responded to an accident at 6:56 p.m. on Park Street when a single vehicle struck a light pole, which sustained minor damage. No injuries. Officers conducted a bar check at 8:15 p.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Officer witnessed a careless driving incident in a parking lot at 8:25 p.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Driver was cited and released. Officers also conducted or responded to two VIN inspections, one animal welfare call, one parking complaint, one additional welfare check and one suspicious vehicle Monday. *Sheridan County Sheriff's Office* Officers responded to shots on Red Grade Road at 8:25 a.m. in Sheridan. Officers responded to a trespassing incident at 1:17 p.m. on Keystone Road in Ranchester. Officers conducted warrant service in four incidents at 4:58 p.m. on W. 13th Street. Officers responded to a violation of a restraining order at 8:49 p.m. in the Sheridan area. Officers responded to a domestic incident at 10:57 p.m. on Beaver Creek Road in Sheridan. #dally #news
