(Wyoming) — The price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Wyoming has dipped to a four-year low, averaging today $1.91, according to Wyominggasprices.com. Sheridan County's regular gasoline price has also fallen, this week hovering around the $2 per gallon mark. The latest price for a barrel of oil on the New York Commodities Exchange on the last trading day, Thursday, was $38.10 per barrel, down from nearly $108 a barrel in the second quarter of 2014. The highest regular per gallon rate in the past four years was $3.82 in September of 2012, again according to wyominggasprices.com. While the low gasoline prices are a boon to motorists, the energy industry has been hit hard with a halt in exploration and drilling and a loss of many local jobs tied to the energy sector. In November of 2014, the Wyoming price for regular fuel was around the $2.40 to $2.45 cent mark. The price plunged to $2 per gallon in January of 2015, rose again in the summer and now has returned to under $2.00 per gallon. *Feature Photo: Compilation of gas prices from around the state for the past two years. / Pitchengine Communities* #dally #county17 #reboot
