Extra patrols out, no fireworks allowed in city on New Year's Eve

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Sheridan Police Department will have enhanced patrols out on New Year's Eve, according to Lt. Tom Ringley. While consumer fireworks are allowed in some unincorporated areas of Sheridan County during the months of December and January, fireworks are always illegal in the city without a permit, Ringley said. In information from Sheridan County put out at the Fourth of July, the County Fire Warden recommend attending fireworks displays performed by qualified pyrotechnic professionals during holidays, as the risk of injury and property damage at these events is significantly less. On the interstates, the Wyoming Highway Patrol has announced its #DoNotGetHashtaggedByWHP campaign , wherein patrols will post "up-to-date" DUI arrests and other safety related traffic stops from around the state on its Facebook and Twitter accounts. #dally #news
