WYO Theater's Classic Western Film Series opens in January

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — It is nearly time for the WYO Theater's Classic Western Film Series to begin. The WYO Theater presents its Classic Western Film Series on the big screen every Sunday in January. The Jan. 3 presentation is "The Last Picture Show” (1971). In a economically and culturally dying town in west Texas, two high schoolers, Sonny Crawford (Timothy Bottoms) and his friend Duane Jackson (Jeff Bridges), deal with their transitions to adulthood. Local celebrity Craig Johnson will offer commentary on the movie, according to Sheridan Travel and Tourism. Free popcorn will be available, as well as entries for prize drawings. Other film showings for January include: The Cowboys presented by Gene Sturlin (Jan. 17), 310 to Yuma presented by Tommy B (Jan. 24), and Death Rides a Horse presented by Maddy Black (Jan. 31). Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at wyotheater.com or by calling the WYO Theater Box Office.
