(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Whether you want to ring in the new year with a icy cold splash or an in-town hike, today is your chance. For the first year ever, the Trail End Historic site is hosting a First Day Hike
– a 20-year-old national
initiative designed to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, but an
appreciation for the nation’s parks and historic sites.
The hike will begin at 10 a.m. at the Trail End.
The 29th annual Polar Bear Plunge at Lake DeSmet is today at 1 p.m. at the
south end boat ramp. The plunge isn't a formal event, nor is it sponsored
by any entity, but drew a crowd of around 200 last year.
