11th annual Backcountry Film Festival at Black Tooth Brewing Company Jan. 22

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The 11th annual Backcountry Film Festival at Black Tooth Brewing Company will be Jan. 22, in Sheridan. The Wyoming Wilderness Association will present the Winter Wildlands Alliance’s 11th annual Backcountry Film Festival, renowned for its collaboration with filmmakers, ranging from grassroots to professional. The festival provides a line-up of films "committed to get everyone from van dwellers to weekend warriors awakened to adventures in the snow and environmental initiatives happening all around the world." [image: Inline image 1] This year’s program includes a variety of films with topics ranging from deep powder skiing in Japan (Japan by Van), to splitboarding as a way of life (I Love Splitboarding), the tremendous amount of sacrifice and hardship involved in the life of a climber (Always Above Us), the responsibility that comes with backcountry freedom (The Forecaster) and how an all-women team intersects scientific exploration with grueling fun (Shifting Ice). Funds raised will stay in the local community, benefiting the Wyoming Wilderness Association as it seeks to protect Wyoming’s public wild lands and the human-powered recreation that occurs in those lands. Tickets are $10, available at the door. Bring some extra cash to enter a raffle for ski gear, warm winter woolies, gift cards and more. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Black Tooth Brewing Company, 312 Broadway Avenue in Sheridan. #dally #news #whatshappening
