Council approves Kendrick Golf Course contracts; Sheridan on Skates request; annexations

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The City of Sheridan's City Council approved several measures tonight, beginning with the renewal of the 2016 Kendrick Municipal Golf Course contracts. *Kendrick Municipal Golf Course* Contracts include a general management agreement, the golf professional contract and the golf restaurant and bar concession lease agreement. In 2011, the city entered into a five-year agreement with Brian James to manage the Kendrick Municipal Golf Course, according to city documents. Action Monday extends that agreement. *Sheridan on Skates * The City granted a $100,000 request in funding to the Sheridan on Skates board for permitting and public infrastructure. According to Public Works Director Nic Bateson, city staff met with the Sheridan on Skates board to plan funding the requests over two fiscal years. Thus, this year $50,000 of the request will be granted from the public benefit fund in FY16 and $50,000 in the FY17 budget. "We just can't tell you how much we appreciate the help that we've gotten ... to get people skating before Thanksgiving. It has just been a pleasure," Sheridan on Skates board president Charley Whiton said. *Annexations* The city also approved: - Ordinance 2164 PL-15-36, a tract of land located in the SW1/4SW1/4 of Section 28 and the NW1/4NW1/4 of Section 33, Township 56 North, Range 84 West of the 6th P.M., Sheridan County Wyoming, being approximately 9.664 acres and having the common address of 2100 Pheasant Draw Rd (First Reading) - Ordinance 2165 City Initiated Annexation PL-15-37, a portion of the existing Higby Rd. right-of-way (First Reading) *Feature photo: Skaters on the ice at Whitney Rink in December. /
