Holy Name opens fall 2016 school registration

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Holy Name Catholic School is now accepting pre-kindergarten through eighth grade registration for the 2016-2017 school year. “For more than a century, HNCS has provided a unique educational opportunity for Sheridan-area children,” said Mary Legler Drake, principal at HNCS. “Our students receive a top-notch education coupled with a strong community service component.” Beginning in pre-kindergarten, HCNS offers a broad core curriculum with emphasis on mathematics, reading, writing and science and also includes elective classes such as Spanish, computers, art, music and more. Student athletes are able to participate in basketball, track and field and volleyball and field trips to Teton Science School and Washington DC allow students to learn outside the classroom. Class sizes are small, allowing for intensive instruction and all teachers are certified through the Wyoming Department of Education. Students from HCNS regularly outscore public school students on standardized tests and take top honors at regional math competitions and history and science fairs. Children from any religious background are welcome at HCNS and no child will be turned away due to inability to pay. Financial aid is available and DFS accepted (for pre-K childcare). After-school care for children is offered until 5:30 p.m. Parents interested in learning more about HNCS are encouraged to contact Drake to arrange a tour of the school, meet the faculty and staff and ask questions about the curriculum. *A Holy Name Catholic School class and Father Jim Heiser of Holy Name Catholic Church. h/t Holy Name Catholic Church / Pitchengine Communities* #dally #news
