(Laramie, Wyo.) — Sheridan High School students took first place at State We the People competition today in Laramie. "The (students) did an outstanding job and would like to thank the Sheridan community for all of their support!" Advanced Government Teacher Tyson Emborg said today. According to statewide organizer Matt Strannigan, the Sheridan students came in first, Cheyenne Central was second and Laramie was third. Jackson, Glenrock and Casper Kelly Walsh teams received honorable mentions. Students rehearsed
in public at the
Sheridan Fulmer Library in mid-January. During We the People events,
students are asked about the U.S. and Wyoming Constitutions, the
documents' long history — even before this country was founded — and the
documents’ application to present-day situations.
Nationals will be held April 23-27 in Washington, D.C.
