Sheridan College and WYO Theater partner for "On Golden Pond"

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Sheridan College and the WYO Theater has announced a collaborative performance between Sheridan College and the WYO Theater, "On Golden Pond," written by Ernest Thompson. "On Golden Pond" is perhaps best known as Thompson’s Academy Award-winning screenplay, which also won awards for stars Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn. The play will be directed by Rebecca Leibinger. As with previous years, all proceeds from the play will go to Sheridan College Performing Arts and the WYO Theater. "On Golden Pond" tells the story of aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiancé Billy Ray and his son Billy Ray Jr. The play explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage. The play will star former Sheridan College provost Pete Simpson as Norman and his wife, former Civic Theater Guild Artistic Director Lynne Simpson, as Ethel. The duo is well-known in the Sheridan community for having long been supporters of the town’s theater and arts community. The play also stars the Simpsons’ daughter Maggie Simpson-Crabaugh as Norman and Lynne’s daughter Chelsea and grandson Patrick Crabaugh as Billy Ray. "On Golden Pond" will have two showings on March 4 and March 5 at the WYO Theater. #dally #news
