Wind damages trees in Story; sparks fires around the state

(Story, Wyo.) — The wind toppled numerous trees in the Story area last night. These photos show damage to property on Fish Hatchery Road. Reports in the area are that many large branches are also down and some property sustained damage. Peak winds gusted yesterday in Sheridan at 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service. A fire damaged over 4,000 acres just over the Wyoming border into Colorado yesterday when a man was burning trash on a day with 100 mph gusts, according to Cheyenne Shortgo .
