Sheridan County Republicans hold precinct caucuses; elect Brian Miller state committeeman

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Sheridan County Republican Party held its precinct caucuses this morning at the Historic Sheridan Inn. Jesus Rios, also a Sheridan City Councilor, resigned as the state committeeman earlier this week. Today, the Sheridan County Republican Party selected Brian Miller to fill the position. "Jesus has served the Sheridan County Party for a number of years in roles including Precinct Committeeman, Vice Chairman, Chairman, and State Committeeman. We sincerely appreciate his dedicated service to the Sheridan County Republican Party," the Republican Party says. A vacancy in the office of state committeeman or state committeewoman must be filled within 30 days, according to party bylaws. Precinct caucuses in Wyoming are held to elect delegates to County Convention, and to begin the process of introducing proposed bylaws, resolutions and platforms. Precinct committeemen and committeewomen are automatically delegates to the Sheridan County Convention. Others in each precinct may be elected to serve as a delegate or alternate, depending on the number of delegates authorized per precinct. *Feature photo h/t Ryan Mulholland, Sheridan County Republican Party * #dally #news
