(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Haying has to be one of the most labor-intensive chores on a ranch or farm. Hot and dusty in the summer, it wasn't until major technological advances in the late 1800s and into the 20th Century that technology changed the process. Today, most ranchers use petroleum-based equipment.
