Dispatch: Sheriff responds to Sunday grass fire; Large knife found at Thorne-Rider Park Friday, Drug paraphernalia found and seized on Mydland Road

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Here is the Friday, March 4-Sunday, March 5, recap of law enforcement activity in the Sheridan area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Sheridan Police Department* *Arrests* *Saturday* Nicholas Lapp, 26, Sheridan, was arrested on an outstanding Washakie County warrant and for driving without an ignition interlock device at 1:46 p.m. on E. Fifth Street. Citation was also issued for driving under suspension. *Calls* *Friday* Request was made for a welfare check on adult female at 1:10 a.m. in Sibley Circle. Officers were unable to locate the female. Driver was cited for passing a school bus with its red overhead lights flashing at 7:19 a.m. on Fort Road. Investigation determined the driver had passed the school bus before the stop lights had been activated. Complaint was made of dogs defecating on a person’s property at 9:29 a.m. on Canfield Street. Pictures will be taken and citations will be issued. Citizen reported they had found a large knife at the children's play ground at Thorne-Rider Park at 9:35 a.m. on W. 14th Street. Knife has been placed in evidence for safe keeping at the police department. Complaint of two loose dogs at 10:16 a.m. on Bellevue Avenue. Dogs were placed in their yard by the owner, the owner was issued a citation for dog at large. Officers responded to an accident at 11:27 a.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Truck driver backed into parked car in parking lot. Request for welfare check on a male subject at 1:48 p.m. on S. Carlin Street resulted in a male found deceased at his residence. Complaint of a subject refusing to leave a business after requesting free services at 7:54 p.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Subject departed after police contact. *Saturday* A 35-year-old female was found deceased by roommate at 2:27 a.m. on Gladstone Street. Officers took complaint of coins and lapel pins having been stolen from residence at 7:25 a.m. on Holmes Avenue. Female, 46, Sheridan, was arrested for domestic battery following a physical fight in front of a residence at 1:58 p.m. on Illinois Street. Officers responded to a disturbance of the peace incident at 2:48 p.m. on Avoca Place. Employer complained of receiving threats of physical injury from an ex-employee at 3:29 p.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Local resident found drug paraphernalia in her yard at 3:35 p.m. on Mydland Road. Item was seized. A traffic stop resulted in a driver being cited for possession of controlled substance-marijuana at 6:15 p.m. on S. Main Street. *Sunday* Complaint of a local business having ongoing issue with wild birds was made at 8:55 a.m. on Coffeen Avenue. Officers responded to an accident at 9:11 a.m. on College Avenue Drive when a Dodge pulled away from curb into traffic and was struck by a Chevrolet. Driver of Dodge was cited for failure to yield before entering roadway. Officers conducted warrant service at 2:47 p.m. on Avoca Place. Officers responded to suspicious circumstances at 2:58 a.m. on S. Sheridan Avenue.
