Annual Beaver Creek Slide to benefit Sheridan Community Homeless Shelter

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The 13th annual Beaver Creek Slide and third annual Beaver Creek Bike Slog is scheduled for May 7, 2016. The Sheridan Community Homeless Shelter, operated by Volunteers of America, receives $12.50 of each individual’s entry fee. Last year’s races had competitors from across Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. Races include a half marathon and 3.5 mile walk/run. The half marathon is a loop course covering primarily dirt and gravel roads along the scenic Big Horn Mountain foothills. The 3.5-mile course loops through Wild Turkey and Beaver Creek subdivisions. The courses are well marked and have aid stations. Walkers for the half marathon start at 8 a.m. while runners start at 9 a.m. The 3.5 milers start at 10 a.m. Bike racers take the same course as the half marathon and do two loops starting at 8 a.m. Bikers need to yield to runners and stay on right side of road while runners need to stay to the left. Races will start at the Dahlin residence at 12 S. Sharptailed Road. The entry fee is $30, payable to Wyoming Innovation.
