Instrument Petting Zoo coming to the Library

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Sheridan Fulmer Library will host an Instrument Petting Zoo in the Inner Circle on Saturday, March 12 at 10 a.m. Instrument Petting Zoos have been offered for several years by orchestras and other entities around the country to introduce children and adults to instruments that may be otherwise inaccessible to most people. Some instruments can be delicate, expensive and complicated to use, which is intimidating to many would-be child and adult musicians. This event will allow participants to get up close with a variety of instruments to see, hear, touch them and learn how they work. The program will be led by certified music therapist Michele Folster who will bring several of her personal instruments to the event. “I'll be bringing and talking about some familiar instruments and some that you may have heard about but have never actually heard or seen like the erhu, a Chinese two- string violin, a tenor, alto, and sopranino recorder, a cajon, djembes and a Merlin,” said Folster. “It will be a fun time with fun instruments for all ages! Come make some noise with us!" [image: Inline image 1] #dally #news #whatshappening
