SHS locker room project to commemorate students, donors and community

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — For the past year, staff and students from across Sheridan County School District #2 have been putting in painstaking hours to develop, start and complete brand new locker rooms at Sheridan High School. The SHS marketing class has been tasked with completing plaques that will be mounted on the front of each locker. The plaques will recognize the individual donors, who gave money used to complete the locker renovation. The SHS marketing class is working on finding materials that will work best for the plaques, and have tested a few types. They will use an in-house laser printer to inscribe each plaque. To sponsor a locker for $250, contact SHS Activities Director Don Julian at don.julian@scsd2.com . "It is on schedule and going well, and we will be moving our students into the new locker rooms the week of March 21," Julian said. "Don Julian ... has been the person in charge when it comes to the new locker rooms," SHS marketing student Matthew O'Kelly said. "He knows exactly what he wants out of these new rooms, and exactly what is going to happen." There are still a few lockers remaining, Marketing teacher Kathleen Pilch said. With every locker purchased, a commemorative plaque will be available. The marketing students will ensure that the plaque is engraved to the donor's liking, and will be contacting existing donors soon to verify inscription. Some people are choosing to memorialize past coaches, past students and family members. Some groups want to honor their own legacy — the SHS graduating class of 1960, for example, has purchased locker #60.
