Wyoming author C.J. Box reveals collaboration with Hollywood producer

(Wyoming) — CJ Box's "The Highway" may end up as a six-to-eight episode television series, the author told a crowd this week. Box visited Cheyenne to discuss his newest novel, Off the Grid, at the Laramie County Library Tuesday. Box talked briefly about how he came up with the plot for the novel, and read a quick excerpt for his fans before signing books. The audience asked about a rumored film surrounding the Joe Pickett series, however, Box said they withdrew from the film "due to the directions [the producers] were taking it." It was then that Box told the crowd that he is in the works with another producer, David E. Kelley, on developing "The Highway" into a six-to-eight episode series. "The Highway" tells the story of two sisters who set out across a remote stretch of Montana road to visit their friend, when the girls -- and their car -- vanish, according to Box's website. The Wyoming-native will be traveling to 22 different cities across the U.S. as part of his national book tour.
