Fort Road railroad crossing to be removed next week

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Wyoming Department of Transportation and the City of Sheridan have partnered with Burlington Northern Santé Fe Railroad to remove the railroad crossing on North Main Street in Sheridan next week. Crews plan to be working in the area beginning on Monday, March 14. There could be minor interruptions to traffic on Monday, such as narrowing of traffic and speed reductions in the area. On Tuesday March 15, crews are planning to close North Main Street in the initial area of the tracks from 9 AM to 1 PM to remove the tracks and replace surfacing. "Please slow down and pay special attention in the project area," WYDOT says. WYDOT and the City of Sheridan plan to realign the intersection at Fort Road as part of the North Sheridan Interchange project. The removal of the railroad crossing will facilitate the improvements to the intersection. #dally #news
