The Brinton will open its season March 15 with children's, military work

(Big Horn, Wyo.) — After a seasonal closure, The Brinton will re-open for the 2016 season with award-winning artist’s military and children’s works March 15. Two shows by illustrator Victor Juhasz kick off the museum's 2016 events. Juhasz’s children’s and military illustrations will be featured in two concurrent shows in the new Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Building. [image: Inline image 1] *From the children’s book “R is for Rhyme” written by Judy Young and illustrated by Victor Juhasz. h/t The Brinton / Pitchengine Communities* "The Art of Illustrator Victor Juhasz" will feature 60 of Juhasz children’s works and be on display in the Jacomien Mars Reception Gallery from March 15-May 29. His military show, "Victor Juhasz – Afghanistan and Beyond," will be on display in the S.K. Johnston, Jr. Family Gallery from March 15-April 17. There is no admission to the children’s show for teachers and students, and school tours can be scheduled while Juhasz is in residence at the museum, from March 21-25, or anytime during the show. In addition, The Brinton Museum is a Blue Star Museums member and admission is always free for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel, veterans, and their families. The military show, “Victor Juhasz – Afghanistan and Beyond,” is a deeply moving exhibit that features his expressive military works, which shed light on the harsh realities of war. Special events include: - Book signing: Sunday, March 20 from 2-3 p.m. - Meet the Artist: Sunday March 20 from 3-5 p.m. - Artist in Residence for School Tours at The Brinton: March 21-25 (school tours can be booked throughout the exhibit until May 29) - Gallery Talk for military show: Tuesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. - Gallery Talk for children’s show: Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. Events on March 20 and both gallery talks on March 21 and March 24 are free and open to the public. *Feature photo: "Night Watch” by Victor Juhasz.
