Symons launches campaign for Wyoming House District 30

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Fourth generation Sheridan County resident, Gail Symons, announced her candidacy Wednesday for Wyoming House District 30. The retired US Naval Officer says she continues a family tradition of community engagement and service. “The leadership skills I developed in the military, combined with the business and financial experience as a Supply Officer and at General Electric, provide a solid foundation for effectively serving Sheridan County. Wyoming’s financial situation will make the going tough for some time,” Symons said in her official statement. “I am prepared for that challenge and look forward to working with Sheridan residents to find the best solutions," she said. Gail Symons was born and raised in Sheridan and graduated from both Sheridan High School and the University of Wyoming. “I put myself through college by working as a waitress. Not only did that teach me the value of hard work, there is no better training ground on how to provide excellent service in the face of difficult situations or customers. If you don’t deliver, you don’t get paid," Symons said. While in the Navy, she held a wide variety of responsibilities including two shipboard tours, retail, instructor, supply chain, finance and program management. After military retirement, her experience in process improvement and the MBA earned while on active duty led to roles as Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt at General Electric. The Six Sigma program was a key initiative at the Corporation and is credited with saving millions of dollars while improving processes and product quality. Along with her brother, Bob Symons, Gail is a General Partner of the Symons Ranch Limited Partnership established to continue the Symons (SY) Ranch legacy started by their great-grandfather in 1890. Rep. Mark Jennings currently holds the HD 30 seat. For more information, visit or call 307-737-2477. *Feature photo h/t Gail Symons / Pitchengine Communities* #dally #news
