Winter Storm Warning posted; Major storm to hit tonight

(Sheridan, Wyo.) - A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for the Southern Big Horn-Sheridan Foothills tonight through 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Locations affected include Lodge Grass, Pryor, Wyola, Fort Smith, Sheridan, Dayton, Ranchester, Big Horn, Story and Clearmont. The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Billings said the storm will bring heavy snow, blowing snow and hazardous driving conditions at times. The heavy wet snow may cause tree and power line damage and could pose a threat to young livestock. Blowing snow will cause reduced visibility. *Timing:* The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 p.m. tonight to 6 p.m. Wednesday. *Accumulation:* 10 - 15 inches is expected with the locally higher amounts over the higher hills and foothills. *Winds:* Northeast 15-25 mph will combine with the snow causing poor visibilities. *Be prepared: *Ranchers should take precautions to protect young livestock.
