No city administrator yet for Sheridan

Back in October 2015 the Sheridan City Council passed an ordinance that would all the city to hire an administrator to help run operations alongside Mayor John Heath. As of today, the position has yet to be formally advertised. The process was slowed through the winter while a petition circulated to put the matter up to a public vote. However, the petition ultimately failed to get enough signatures to put it on the ballot and suspend the city's ordinance. This week Sheridan Dally received a tip that the city had hired an interim city administrator, but Sheridan's HR Director Heather Doke said no one has been hired to fill that role in any capacity. She said the city is still reviewing options on how to proceed, especially with it being an election year. There have been no advertisements placed, and there have been no interviews, Doke said. #dally #news
