in the Bighorn National
Forest is home to a 16-acre campus owned by the Northern Wyoming Community
College District. Since the 1920s it's been a natural retreat for people
like Hemingway. This summer, Sheridan College will be hosting two 5-day
Natural Science Pack Trips, designed to educate participants about the
challenges of living in the alpine zones.
On July 9th - 13th, and August 28th - September 1st, curious members of the
public can take a horseback ride to Beaver Lakes Field Station, a remote
location in close proximity to the surrounding Cloud Peak Wilderness Area.
They'll spend several days delving into three major areas of study: Bighorn
Mountain History & Folklore; Alpine Wildlife & Vegetation; and Geological
