Sheridan County Democrats to Caucus Saturday

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — The Sheridan County Democratic Party had about 550 members turn out for the 2008 caucus, so the party chair says she expects that many or more at the caucus this weekend, given the political climate today. There are about 2,000 registered Democrats in Sheridan County, Shannon Anderson, Sheridan County Democratic Party Chair said. The Sheridan County Democratic Caucus will be on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. Check-in begins at 10 a.m., and participants must be pre-registered Democrats to participate. The party will select delegates to the Wyoming State Democratic Convention representing their presidential candidate of choice on Saturday. "Each group of people (advocating) for a candidate will have a five minute speech, so they will have to select a speaker to speak on behalf of the candidate they choose," Anderson said. The party will also discuss any changes to be considered in the Wyoming Democratic Platform in this election year. The Caucus is open to all, but only registered Democrats in Sheridan County may vote. For more information, contact Anderson at (307) 763-0995 or #dally #news
