Loucks closure from Thurmond to Brooks streets likely to continue until May 19

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Work on Loucks Street—and the closure—from Thurmond to Brooks street began April 6 and will likely continue until May 19. The City of Sheridan West Loucks Street Reconstruction Phase I Project started with the bore under Big Goose Creek on March 21, and is substantially complete. Construction on West Loucks Street began on April 6, with demolition of the existing surfacing started near Brooks St and proceeded west to Thurmond St. The Thurmond/Loucks intersection is remain open. The Project Manager for the City is Joe Schoen. The Project Manager for the Engineer is Mike Evans of EnTech, Inc. The public can reach Joe Schoen at 675-4237 or Mike Evans at 673-1542 ext. 24. A Project Representative from EnTech, Inc. (Eric Holifield, 752-6433) will typically be on‑site for immediate assistance. For obvious safety reasons, the city asks that children are kept outside of the construction area at all times. Traffic route modifications will need to occur during construction. Please plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid construction, the city says. "Traffic control will be required throughout the duration of the project. Please be cautious around the work zone as construction activity progresses," the city says in an email statement.
