Sheridan College dominates state SkillsUSA competition

(Casper, Wyo.) — With eight first-place finishes and 14 total awards, the Sheridan College SkillsUSA team was absolutely dominant at the State Championship, held this week in Casper. SkillsUSA, a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, prepares America's high performance workers and provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. Sheridan College won team gold medals for Additive Manufacturing, Automated Manufacturing, and Welding Fabrication. Individual golds were won by Dakota Hennigh (Cabinet Making), Dan Koch (Carpentry), Rick Aili (Diesel Technology), Jacob Mahar (Welding Technology), and Daniel Furnish (Welding Sculpture). Sheridan College also was recognized with an award for Highest-Scoring Chapter at the collegiate level.
