Community partnership makes VOA Garden a reality

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — With a high predicted of 81 degrees, Friday will be a perfect day for the Volunteers of America Sheridan to plant of its Veterans Honor Garden . Team Depot has partnered with Volunteers of America staff to install plantings and work on the VOA Veterans Honor Garden, on Friday, April 22 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. VOA received a $14,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation, as well as support from Team Depot to continue work on the garden. “We are extremely fortunate to have this amazing partnership with our local Home Depot,” said Skye Hereen, Director of Development, Wyoming. "With the help of the community and Team Depot, we are closing in on completion of the Veterans Honor Garden.” Volunteers of America (VOA) is a leading provider of services to veterans in Wyoming and Montana. VOA considers it one of the highest privileges to serve those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country. In celebration of Veteran's Day this past November 11, 2015, they launched a very special project to honor veterans in perpetuity. The VOA Veterans Honor Garden is a dedicated space on the Volunteers of America campus (located behind Landon's Greenhouse) in Sheridan, Wyoming that will recognize veterans, past and present. Team Depot is an associate-led volunteer program, Home Depot associates work to create a meaningful impact in veterans’ communities. #dally #news
