Antelope Butte now owns improvements on the mountain

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — This morning, the U.S. Forest Service delivered the deed for ownership of all facilities at the ski area at Antelope Butte. This transaction officially means the Antelope Butte Foundation is now the owner of the lodge, chairlifts, maintenance buildings, and other man-made infrastructure at the area- to now be called the "Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area". Permitting for construction and restoration should be issued by the forest service in early May, allowing demolition and volunteer work to begin when the snow has melted. An online registration for volunteers has been created at Two summer events are planned at Antelope Butte. The Antelope Butte Summer Festival will be held on July 22-24. A new event, the Bighorn Mountains Brewfest, is scheduled on Saturday, July 2. #dally #news
