WYDOT to change speed limit signs on 76 miles of roads in NE Wyo this week

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — WYDOT crews are again moving roads in Northeast Wyoming to the newly raised 70 MPH speed limit, and anticipate another 76 miles changing in the next week. “This is happening even faster than expected,” said Ronda Holwell, WYDOT District 4 Public Relations Specialist. “We were planning to get some of the routes done in April and some in May, but it is going quickly so we are just getting continuing to upgrade signs.” Highway sections expected to be signed in the next week in the Sheridan area include: WYO 345 – Acme Frontage Road from Acme to Montana State Line, 19 miles US 87 – The Portions of US 87 that are currently 65 mph from Big Horn Y to Piney Creek Interchange, 8 miles WYO 336 – Wyarno Road from Sheridan to Wyarno, 10 miles WYO 338 – Deck Road from Sheridan to Montana State Line, 13 miles US 14 E – Sheridan to Ucross, 26 miles WYDOT says this schedule is weather-pending. Highway sections that have already been signed in Northeast Wyoming include: US 85 – Newcastle to Mule Creek Junction, 33 miles US 16 - Buffalo to Ucross, 15 miles US 14/16 - Ucross to Gillette, 74 miles WYO 59 - Wright to Gillette, 31 miles WYO 450 – Newcastle to Wright, 76 miles US 16 – Moorcroft to Upton, 19 miles US 16 – Upton to Newcastle, 25 miles WYO 116 – Upton to WYO 450, 31 miles WYO 59 N – Gillette to Montana State Line, 51 miles WYO 50 – Gillette to WYO 387, 46 miles WYO 51 – Gillette to Rozett, 8 miles WYO 51 – Rozett to Moorcroft, 12 miles WYO 116 N – Upton to Sundance, 27 miles WYO 585 – Sundance to Four Corners, 26 miles US 16 – Newcastle to South Dakota State Line, 9 miles US 18 – Mule Creek Junction to South Dakota State Line, 10 miles I-90 Frontage Rd – Sundance to Beulah, 18 miles WYO 111 – Sundance to Aladin, 8 Miles WYO 112 – Hulett to Montana State Line, 29 miles WYO 212 – South Dakota State Line to Colony, 5 miles WYO 212 – Colony to Montana State Line, 13 miles A total of 566 miles of two lane highway in Northeast Wyoming has already been moved to 70 mph. Another 76 miles are anticpated to be complete in the week, bringing the total miles in the Northeast corner of Wyoming to 642 miles.
