(Sheridan, Wyo.) — At approximately 8:26 p.m., Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Rocky Mountain Ambulance, Goose Valley Fire Department and Sheridan Police Department were dispatched to 726 Long Dr. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a three-story wood frame multi-residential structure with light smoke showing from the outside, according to Captain Robert Dobbs of Sheridan Fire-Rescue. Fire crews entered the structure and found a small fire in the kitchen of an apartment on the first floor. Fire crew's extinguished the fire approximately five minutes after arrival. Overhaul and smoke ventilation was completed shortly after. Prior to emergency crews arriving, the fire had been contained by an occupant of a neighboring apartment and the building maintenance crew using dry chemical extinguishers. Due to the quick actions of the neighbor and the maintenance crew, the fire was limited in growth. A fire alarm pull station was activated notifying other occupants to evacuate the building. One civilian was taken to Sheridan County Memorial Hospital by ambulance and three other civilians went by personal vehicles to the hospital to be evaluated for non-life threatening smoke injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. #dally #news
