Snickers Cup will bring thousands of visitors to Sheridan this weekend

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — This weekend, thousands of people will flock to Sheridan for the 12th annual Snickers Big Horn Soccer Cup at the Big Horn Equestrian Center. "It is a great event, a lot of fun," event organizer Jimmy Legerski told Dally today. The BHEC facility has 22 soccer fields at one location, and a variety of entertainment and vendors are located on site during the annual event. Admission is $5 per car. "People love the scenery, of course, and the thing that people like the best is that everything is in one place," Legerski said. This means that familes with multiple soccer players have an easier time taking in all the action, he said. Hotels in Sheridan, Buffalo and even Gillette are also gearing up for the event, which brings an influx of travelers to Sheridan from Colorado, Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming to play a total of 265 games. "The Snickers Cup for soccer has similar strength of the Colorado Crossroads volleyball tournament in Denver," Forward Sheridan Director Jay Stender told Dally. "This brings families to our community in a very productive fashion." Sheridan Travel & Tourism and all involved with the Snicker's Cup have created a "soccer standard" that also validates the Sheridan's branding efforts - Naturally Sheridan, Stender said. "Name recognition, superior setting, and consistent professional atmosphere sets the foundation for visitors from far and near," Stender said. "Congratulations to the many folks that work to make it happen."
