Pack that Car! with Girl Scout Troop 1266 for Second Chance Cat Rescue

(Sheridan, Wyo.) — Sheridan Girl Scout Troop 1266 is hoping to pack a car full of cat supplies for Second Chance Cat Rescue this weekend. The girls will be outside Sheridan Motors collecting cat food, cat litter, cat toys, office supplies for Second Chance and more from 9 a.m.-noon. It is all a part of their journey to earn a Bronze Award from the Girl Scouts of America, Troop Leader Marisa Graham says. "We've done a girl scout journey as well this year, which was about upcycling, recycling and keeping the earth healthy. For that project, we made hot drink cozies out of recycled jeans and gave them away at our booth sales," Graham said. Maybe you have seen the girls at one of their events. "We rely entirely on donations from our community. Having Troop 1266 volunteer to do this donation drive for us is so wonderful. We are extremely grateful for their support," she said. Graham said that for its Bronze Award work, the troop visited Second Chance to find out about the organization and its needs. "We've made fliers and handed them out at our booth sales, handed fliers out all around town, put the event on Facebook and Sheridan Upcycle, put a public service announcement on the radio, had an article written about our event in the Sheridan Press, and made boxes to collect our donations in at home and work," Graham said. "All of this and many more things were accomplished this year," she said. The troop is made up of seven fourth and fifth graders, and five of the seven girls in Troop 1266 have never been in Girl Scouts before. "It has taken some work to get them up to speed on customer relationships for cookie sales this spring, as well as getting them to understand the background and history of Girl Scouts," she said. "I'm extremely proud of how hard they have worked on this and all of our projects. I hope that we can PACK THAT CAR!" [image: Inline image 1] #dally #news #whatshappening
