[image: IMG_9214.jpg] Today, Sheridan is honoring those fallen. The memorials began with a Sheridan's annual Memorial Day Parade on Main Street, and the placing of wreaths at the Sheridan County Courthouse lawn. [image: IMG_9212.jpg] In a place of honor, Pearl Harbor survivor Mel Heckman rode in the parade this morning. In front of the courthouse sat a table set for one in remembrance of all American POWs and MIA personnel, who "we call brothers," a Wyoming National Guard Chaplain said. [image: IMG_9218.jpg] "May we never fail to remember the awesome cost of freedom," he said to a crowd gathered on the street. The ceremonies continue at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery at 11:45 a.m. with the flag raising, National Anthem, and “Post Everlasting” ceremony. The Sheridan VFW Post 1560 will host afternoon ceremonies in recognition of all veterans of foreign wars, especially local VFW members who have died in the year, with a memorial service at 2 p.m., and live music on the patio at 3 p.m. [image: IMG_9233.jpg] Mel Heckman in today's parade: Memorial Day Parade arrives at the Sheridan County Courthouse: #dally #news
