Arden Fire in the Bighorns grows to 350 acres

The wildfire burning near Shell Reservoir in the Bighorn National Forest continues to burn this afternoon and has grown to at least 350 acres. This is an increase from the 120 acres initially reported this morning. The Arden Fire is being actively suppressed with a mixture of crews on the ground and support as needed by a helicopter, the command team said in a release. Today’s actions are to focus on the north and west flanks of the fire by constructing handline and conducting burn-out operations. As of earlier this afternoon, the fire had zero containment. Currently there area four 20-person hotshot crews, two 20-person hand crews, five engines and one helicopter working the fire. There are forest closures in the area. For more details, go here .
