This afternoon the team battling the Arden Fire, which is burning near Shell Reservoir in the Bighorn National Forest, announced that the fire has grown to 415 acres. This is up from yesterday afternoon, when it was at 350 acres. There is zero containment at this time. No structures are threatened by the fire that began two days ago. There are closures in the area
The Arden Fire is being actively suppressed with a mixture of crews on the
ground and aerial support. Today’s actions are line construction and
burnout operations on the north and northwest side of the fire to keep the
fire east of Shell Creek and south of Lake Adelaide. There four 20-person
hotshot crews, two 20-person hand crews, four engines and two helicopters
working the fire.
Fire danger remains high in the forest.
