Wind River Job Corp Celebrates Native American Education

The Wind River Job Corp Center is pleased to provide students with many different trades as well as people skills.

The success standards of the Wind River Job Corp include Multicultural Awareness and Diversity. Last week to celebrate Native American Heritage Month the Wind River Job Corp Center invited CWC Diversity Coordinator Ivan Posey to speak with students on the topic of Native American Education. Performances included the Wyoming Indian Dancers.

The school’s goal is to have students leaving the training center with cultural sensitivity allowing students to go out into the world able to work with different backgrounds and cultures. Director Julie Gassner said, “We honor and embrace what makes us great. We are proud of how welcoming our students and staff are.”

Building Construction Technology student Shota Runs Close To Lodge danced during the center’s event. A student of the BCT program Shota looks forward to what’s next.

Overall the Wind River Job Corp goals seem to be great standards for the Center giving students guidance to last a lifetime.
