Leilani H. Miller, 56, of St. Stephens, Wyoming passed away on a clear blue morning Friday, September 16, 2016 at Sage West Riverton. A private visitation of family and friends was held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Davis Funeral Home.
Leilani Huana Brown was born November 23, 1959 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Henry Brown and Phyllis Damon. She was a member of the Catholic Faith and the Native American Church. She attended the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in the late 1970’s.
She married Buddy Miller in 1984 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The later divorced.
Her family said she enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, Harley Davidson biker rally’s, beading both contemporary and traditional, leisure reading, spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and practicing the traditional ways.
She worked as a beadwork designer for Gosmer Wings and Neumann Marcus. She was also a certified optician and full time mother raising her family.
Leilani lived on the Wind River Reservation for the past 12 years and traveled between Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming.
She is survived by her two daughters, Krystal Dove Miller and Tova Pearl Miller; grandchildren, Fira Love Miller, Ices Dove Shakesphere and Brock Jayson Bearing; mother, Phyllis Damon; brother, Darrell Brown; and sisters, Analani Brown, Connie Brown, and Tarita Brown.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Florence Damon; father, Henry Brown; and former husband, Buddy Miller.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.
