“Fork Your Diet” on Amazon Prime Inspires People to Change their Life

This groundbreaking film brings together top medical experts from across the country unlocking the key to disease prevention in an educational, inspiring and entertaining story.

Tulsa, OK- Drs. Mark and Michele Sherwood, owners of Functional Medical Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma are thrilled to announce the release of “Fork Your Diet”, a documentary or “healthumentary” project based on the Sherwoods’ best-selling book of the same name. This groundbreaking film will entertain and inspire while also educating the public about the critical role diet and nutrition plays in preventing common diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and more.

Tulsa-based filmmaker Stevie Fernandez Jr. with GameDay Films produced the film, under the direction of the Sherwoods. What really sets this movie apart from other health documentaries is the collaboration among top medical experts from a variety of disciplines who came together to share their expertise. Their story shows – through real life examples – the healing benefits a wellness lifestyle can bring and the key role that diet and nutrition play. They are thrilled to make this movie available to everyone through Amazon Prime to encourage everyone to make wellness the new normal.

“Fork Your Diet” premieres Friday, June 14th on Amazon Prime. FREE to Prime members.

“With our country's and even the world's health trends going in the wrong direction, Dr. Michele and I felt the need to create an informative, entertaining and motivating project to inspire change,” said Dr. Mark Sherwood N.D.

“This “healthumentary” is full of inspiration and heart felt passion to help people choose better health. We can’t fix what we don’t know! With health care providers from across the country providing insight and revealing information, new hope is born. A brilliant production by Stevie Fernandez and his team, we know this movie has potential to bring change to the world's health crisis and promote amazing lifestyle changes,” added Dr. Michele Neil-Sherwood D.O.

The film production took an interesting turn when filmmaker Stevie Fernandez went from “producer to patient.” Fernandez not only produced, directed and edited the movie, but also became a featured patient with a lifechanging decision.

There are many documentaries that talk about unhealthy the food is that we eat on a daily basis. They focus on young healthy people in their 20’s and 30’s and show how fast they become unhealthy by eating nothing but fast food or other products full of sugar. These are scare tactics that made the producers wonder, what about the rest of the population? People in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s or older?

"Fork Your Diet" tells the story of a patient in his late 50’s who turns his life around by making changes in his diet and lifestyle, demonstrating that it’s never too late or too early to find great health and fitness through a wellness lifestyle. While conducting research for the film, Stevie Fernandez Jr. realized being 5’6” and 220 lbs. put him on a slippery slope with his health.

“I decided making this movie was a sign to personally follow the doctors’ advice. Facing diabetes and heart disease, I needed to make some drastic changes. In just eight months, I lost 65 lbs. and transformed to this wellness lifestyle: physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. It has also helped my entire family live a healthier lifestyle,” explained Fernandez.
