The Burn KC and Temple Made Fitness Introduce Burn 365: A Weight-loss and Lifestyle Design Program

Burn 365 teaches life skills that encourage long-lasting healthy habits

OLATHE, Kan. (Dec. 27, 2018) – The Burn KC and Temple Made Fitness have partnered to create Burn 365: A Weight-loss and Lifestyle Design Program. This year-long program teaches participants healthy habits including nutrition, exercise, safe and sustainable weight-loss, relaxation, goal-setting, positive psychology and more to help participants feel their best.

The first year-long session begins on Jan. 7, 2019, with new sessions starting monthly. Program membership includes: One instructor led class per week at The Burn; a gym membership to The Burn; bi-weekly workshops covering healthy lifestyle topics; access to all special events, discounted rates to additional gym and personal training services at The Burn.

This innovative program has been created from a holistic point of view and runs for 12 months to ensure that graduates of the class have achieved their health and wellness goals and have acquired all the skills and resources needed to keep it up for years to come. Workshop topics range from “How to Use a Gym and Plan a Workout” to “Breathing Techniques, Stress Management, Mindfulness and Meditation Practices.”

One participant will have the chance to complete the program for free as part of the Burn 365 Ambassador program. The ambassador will be the face of the program and must allow his or her journey to be documented from start to finish.

Program Developers

Max Cookson of The Burn KC

Cookson grew up playing soccer in England and represented the Academy teams of two professional clubs, as well as his University soccer team. Max has a degree and a Masters in Sport & Exercise Psychology, is an ILCT trained life coach and has coached D1, D2 and NAIA athletes. Max has a passion for helping people create the change they want in their life and is a certified personal trainer with years of experience in helping people lose weight and get back on track.

Tony Temple of Temple Made Fitness

Tony was a University of Missouri running back from 2004 to 2007 and his impressive collegiate record includes the Cotton Bowl MVP record holder with 281 yards rushing and four touchdowns, the sixth all-time rusher in the history of the Missouri Tigers Football program and the only back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher in school history. Tony is a speed, agility, strength training coach and is certified through NASM, ISSA and ACE, as well as a Nike trainer. Tony not only specializes in sports performance training, but he also has a passion and proven track record for helping people shed serious pounds and turn their lives around.

Lead Trainer

Lexi Gochnauer of The Burn KC

Lexi Gochnauer is an NASM certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist. Gochnauer received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from MidAmerica Nazarene University where she played on the women’s soccer team. She has four years of youth soccer coaching experience. She was honored by the NAIA and HAAC as the National Defensive Player of the Week in 2014 and by Daktronics as the NAIA Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete in 2017.

Elite Sports Mall is a multi-sport facility for youth soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and futsal athletes. Boasting a full, pediatric health clinic, in addition to a fitness center called “The Burn KC,” Elite Sports Mall is a one-stop shop packed with convenience for youth athletes and the community. The facility, which focuses on optimizing athletic performance, will house batting cages and hitting areas, 4v4 soccer fields, one full-size soccer field, warm-up turf areas, strength and agility training areas, and more. Additional features include a walking track, parent lounges, juice bar, coffee shop, concessions, full-service bar, sports massages and classrooms.
